Plasmonics & Structural Color

By combining localized surface plasmons with diffractive grating structures, our plasmonics team creates vivid, non-fading structural colors and reflective optical filters across the visible spectrum.

Diffractive-Plasmonic Reflective Filters

Traditional dye-based color filters suffer from photobleaching and degradation. Structural colors produced by plasmonic nanostructures offer ultra-high resolution, resistance to fading, and compact form factors.

At LPD, we demonstrate bright reflective filters that couple plasmonic resonance with grating diffraction in metallic nanostructures, tailoring spectral reflectance for color generation and sensing applications.
